Schnitzelkoma

The Schnitzel…what? Schnitzelkoma? Is German Schnitzel now so bad that you need life support straight after consumption? Well, there was the horse meat scare… but surely, one wouldn’t tinker with Schnitzels?! Or have the Austrians got something to do with it? After all, Schnitzel is called “Wiener Schnitzel” (Vienna Schnitzel) on the restaurant menus. So, is this some sort of late revenge? No. It has to do with the fact that, in Germany, your warm meal of the day is eaten at lunch time. Now imagine having to go back to work after consuming a large pork roast with dumplings, tons of sausages or…Schnitzel and fries. You’re unlikely to be very productive after such a lunch meal, hence the association with a comatose state. Where does this fit into German efficiency…?
